Clyde Group has represented industry titans, groundbreaking start-ups and technology associations, solving communications challenges around product launches, brand positioning, reputation management and government relations.
In 2016, Entertainment Software Association tapped Clyde Group to execute strategic media and stakeholder communications inside the Beltway and in the home districts and states of key legislators.
Working in close collaboration with both the communications and government affairs departments, Clyde Group monitors policy priorities and legislation, develops responses to bills and executive orders, coordinates and manages media events, runs the ESA government affairs social media accounts, maintains relationships with journalists, identifies thought leadership opportunities and coordinates with third-parties, including outside researchers, video game companies and other key stakeholders as needed.
Clyde Group regularly secures media coverage of ESA’s policy priorities, localizing national storylines to garner media hits in home districts of key legislators, while continuing to build the thought-leadership profiles of ESA’s senior leaders.
Clyde Group’s Alex Slater worked for the General Counsel of one of the most recognized technology companies in the United States, helping position him as an innovative and ethical leader in the world of technology and policy.
Slater led a team which designed and executed a comprehensive executive communications and thought leadership platform. Starting first with a rigorous analysis of the General Counsel’s strengths and areas of leadership (comparing them to others in the space), Slater developed a plan that included three distinct components.
First, the team carefully developed and placed content pieces including op-eds in The New York Times and the Financial Times, among other publications. Second, the team executed an aggressive media placement program, which featured profiles of and commentary by the General Counsel in national and international journals, broadcast venues and others. This effort resulted in a cover story in the National Journal as well as dozens of placements. Third, and in conjunction with other efforts, the General Counsel was positioned to speak at a series of relevant opportunities, including conferences, seminars and internationally recognized venues such as the Clinton Global Initiative.
Working together, Alex was able to elevate and solidify the position of this executive as a thought leader in areas critical to the company’s success and growth.
Recognized and admired for its Canvas software product servicing the education sector, Instructure turned to Clyde Group to help raise awareness for Bridge by Instructure in a cluttered LMS landscape and with the need to communicate different but consistent messages across stakeholders. Clyde Group crafted a strategy with a focus on generating positive media coverage for products in the Bridge suite, while positioning Instructure leadership as subject matter experts for the topics most relevant to HR decision makers and industry influencers.
Armed with an arsenal of research around employee retention, training programs and the high cost of turnover, Clyde Group quickly secured articles in high-profile business publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Motley Fool, and USA Today, but also targeted business journals to capture business leaders at the local level. Clyde Group has taken the lead on providing bylined content for publications such as HuffPost and HR.com, and offers additional support by identifying and submitting Bridge for various award opportunities.
