CropLife America

CropLife America (CLA) represents the crop protection and grower industry in America. While the federal government has allowed CLA and its members to operate in the United States, the industry is constantly attacked by state legislatures and local ballot initiatives seeking to impede their right to operate.

CLA engaged Clyde Group to assist in CropLife America’s local grassroots program. Team members worked with CLA to develop a strategically-integrated mix of public relations, public affairs outreach, and crisis communications support to combat local ballot initiatives in three key states.

As issues began to arise, the team deployed customized microsites, social media platforms, and developed messaging guides for local nonprofits in each county.  Through robust listening sessions, team members recruited advocates to sit on the board of the local nonprofits and help serve as its messengers, conducted media-training sessions, provided talking points, and arranged interviews with local media.
