We’re seeking a principal who has established themself as a leader in DE&I, preferably with a focus on health equity. This is a key role to guide the firm’s practice in this area, as well as the largest, brand-name account Clyde Group has in the healthcare space. It requires a confident, seasoned expert in communications strategy and client management, with the highest standards for tactical execution. It also requires an interest in and excitement about playing a key role in the leadership and development of a growing agency.
The Principal will:
- Sit on the senior leadership team, playing a key role in the direction, management, and strategy of the firm
- Lead the firm’s diversity, equity and inclusion, health equity, and/or healthcare practices
- Provide strategic direction for the firm’s premier account in this practice
- Provide counsel to other client teams
- Help drive new business development by participating in pitches, converting their own relationships into clients, and helping Clyde Group expand its footprint and grow
- Build and lead integrated campaigns that encompass internal and external strategies (including owned, earned, paid strategies across traditional, digital and experiential channels)
- Manage and support the professional development of other team members
- Help preserve high standards across all strategic communications accounts, socializing best practices with the staff
- Help direct visibility efforts for the firm
- Advise existing Clyde Group clients on integrated communications trends
- Be driven to succeed for clients with multiple DE&I, corporate communications, and issues management needs
- Exemplify flexibility and sensibility in their professional work, dealing with different personality types, particularly during busy and challenging times
- Have a hunger for more opportunity—both for yourself and for clients—and be eager to push beyond the expected
- Assist in managing affinity groups and playing a role in protecting and growing the firm’s cultural initiatives
Ideal qualifications:
- Minimum 20+ years previous communications experience; agency or pharmaceutical experience strongly preferred
- Leadership experience working with large, complex clients and internal teams
- Expertise focused on DE&I, health equity, and/or healthcare
- An outstanding command of internal and external communications strategies, institutional change, thought leadership, and digital strategies
- Successful record of managing large clients (employees in the tens of thousands, annual revenue over $1B), motivating internal teams, and helping develop strong workplace cultures
- Exceptionally strong writing and AP editing skills
- Ability to work with internal and external partners and vendors
- A healthy appetite for news and information, especially related to industry trends
- The desire to work with a cross-functional, integrated team to deliver award-winning work
- A strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and respect for a culturally diverse team
- A commitment to uphold and defend the highest levels of ethical conduct
- A desire to work in a fun, fluid, and fast-paced environment
