Clyde Group helps charities, advocacy organizations and international entities advance their communications goals.
To boost fundraising dollars, Special Olympics – D.C. enlisted Clyde Group to assist with raising awareness of its annual Polar Plunge event. To support Special Olympics’ fundraising goals, Clyde Group crafted a strategy to maximize pre-event coverage, using a combination of media outreach and creative partnerships.
In the weeks leading up to the Polar Plunge, Clyde Group secured coverage in local media outlets including Washingtonian Magazine, the local NBC and FOX affiliates, and popular morning sports radio shows, including the Sports Junkies.
Additionally, Clyde Group worked with two professional D.C. athletes – John Wall of the Washington Wizards and Steven Birnbaum of D.C. United – to promote the event across their personal Twitter accounts. On the day of the Polar Plunge, Clyde Group continued to work with D.C. United and MLS Soccer in promoting his participation at the event.
Our sustained and targeted media outreach resulted in on-site broadcast coverage across all four of Washington D.C.’s TV news stations as well as The Washington Post.
When American Diabetes Association decided to launch its new “Team Tackle” initiative on Capitol Hill, the ADA communication team turned to Clyde Group for assistance with the press event. The new program, a partnership with professional football players from all 32 NFL teams, was designed to raise money for children around the country to attend ADA summer camps.
Clyde Group created national and local press materials, coordinated logistics for the Capitol Hill press event and handled all media relations, including broadcast news interviews and a discussion with ESPN’s new property, The Undefeated.
In addition to gaining coverage in Washington, D.C.’s local and political media outlets, Clyde Group’s efforts resulted in stories in print and broadcast outlets throughout the nation, including a story in USA Today.
